Katy Perry<\/a> faced a harrowing moment mid-performance this week when a levitating butterfly prop malfunctioned during her Lifetimes Tour. <\/p>\n

The tech issue caused the singer to dangerously lurch mid-air in front of thousands of fans, many of whom shared video of the moment online. <\/p>\n

The incident unfolded during her San Francisco show, part of the global tour celebrating her sixth studio album 143. <\/p>\n

As Perry soared above the crowd on a winged contraption during her hit Roar, the set piece suddenly dipped without warning, jostling the pop icon as she clung on for stability.<\/p>\n

Despite the abrupt drop, Perry managed to regain her composure and continued singing, a moment that drew stunned cheers from the audience. <\/p>\n

‘I\u2019m sorry that\u2019s actually so scary, when will artists learn to not use these types of props,’ @mayhembygaga wrote on X, drawing comparisons to a similar mishap involving Beyonc\u00e9 earlier this summer. <\/p>\n

X user @hard_tingz wrote ‘That looks so scary’ while @akhterify agreed:
‘Too risky \ud83e\udd72\ud83d\ude42 hope she is okay.’<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Perry has encountered turbulence<\/a> on the Lifetimes Tour.<\/p>\n

Since kicking off her Lifetimes world tour in May the Dark Horse singer, who is\u00a0reported to have recently split from fianc\u00e9 Orlando Bloom<\/a>, has faced a string of close calls, including\u00a0nearly plunging into a crowd<\/a> in another instance,\u00a0narrowly avoiding a wardrobe malfunction<\/a>\u00a0and having\u00a0a fan rush on stage and grab her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Most recently, at an Australian stop, the singer was hoisted above the crowd inside a suspended metal sphere.<\/p>\n

As handlers released the rig, the sphere tilted suddenly, briefly throwing Perry off balance before the lights cut and the prop was lowered safely.<\/p>\n
