A long-running show with a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score has been canceled after four seasons.

Resident Alien first premiered in 2021, with Superman star Alan Tudyk leading the cast alongside Linda Hamilton, Nathan Fillion, Michael Cassidy and Sara Tomko.

The cult classic sci-fi series airs in the USA, and is also available to stream on Netflix in the UK.

It is based on the comic book of the same name, following alien Harry after he crash lands in a small town in Colorado and befriends the locals.

Unfortunately for his new pals, it turns he’s actually on a secret mission to kill everyone on Earth, but is forced to blend into his surroundings by pretending to be a doctor.

Although the fourth season is currently unfolding on our screens, TV bosses have confirmed that the upcoming episodes will be the last.

The cast and showrunner Chris Sheridan have now addressed the cancellation at a San Diego Comic Con panel, with Alice Wetterlund, who plays D’arcy Bloom, addressing the ‘disarray’ in the TV industry.

She said to the crowd in Hall H (via Variety): ‘We know that you guys deserve more than you’re getting on a lot of shows and movies.

‘The industry is in disarray and it’s been disrupted. Thanks, tech. In a world where TV were normal, we could have way more.

‘The only reason that’s not true is not because anybody behind the show doesn’t want it. It’s because the way the industry works now. You guys deserve more of this.’
